#ThriftyThursday: Sun-kissed Retro Glow for Under $40!
Who says that looking good has to come with an expensive price tag? My #LiveRichLifestyle dictates that I save my coins, without having to sacrifice great style. With this in mind, welcome to #ThriftyThursdays!
Every Thursday I'll be sharing some of my favorite thrifted finds, styled to look like a million bucks (or at least make me feel like it). lol
Today's look is serving Sun-kissed Retro Glow. I got this entire look for under 40 bucks. Aside from the denim jacket (which happens to be the most expensive thing I have on), everything else was either thrifted or made by me, gifted, or purchased overseas!
You're probably wondering, share the goods girl, where'd you source these thrifty treasures??? Lol I will gladly share!
Scarf: 2nd Ave Thrift Stores (Baltimore, MD)
Dress: Buffalo Exchange (Chelsea Location)
Bracelet: Gifted from a friend / Purchased in Cuba
Shoes: Goodwill (near Trenton, NJ)
Now, I'm not sure what really inspired this look aside from the fact that I'd washed my hair the day before, did a twistout, and wasn't quite ready to take it out. lol I didn't want to wear a hat, but my hair needed to be covered, so I threw on a scarf, et voila... Issa lewk!
I've had the dress for a couple years now but barely ever wear it due to the fact that it's so shiny that I initially felt like it should be left for the holiday season. But I say you should glow everyday, so I decided to throw it on and said "why not?"! I've also had the denim jacket for about 4 years now. It is by far one of my favorite and most used purchases I've ever gotten from H&M. The best part is that the jacket was on sale for $35 or something like that (for an end of season sale), and I happened to have a $25 gift card.... SOLD! It's been love ever since.
Aside from the awesome scarf which adds a lovely pop of color and sheen (to match the shimmer of the dress), the second best part about this outfit is the shoes. I LOVE these shoes and they're soooooo comfy! I usually try to stay away from purchasing pre-worn shoes at thrift stores unless they're in SUPER great condition, barely worn, or brand-spankin' new. Luckily, these pretty wedges (which happen to be Kenneth Cole) happened to fall into the brand-spakin' new category-- never worn, and they were only $6.99!!!! I almost fell out, I couldn't believe it. Needless to say, they ended up in my cart. haha I'll probably end up doing a video sharing all of the other goodies I picked up in that thrifting trip, so stay tuned. It was a good day!
Well, I think that about wraps this one up-- I have to go give Arria a bath (she smells pretty gnarly right now, and not in a good way). :(
So take a looksy at the images below, and hopefully you're inspired to thrift your way into a cute new outfit soon. If so, please feel free to share by following and tagging us on Instagram. I love seeing stylish women save coins, while looking good!
