This Is What A 10 Year Relationship Looks Like...
Love and marriage, love and marriage, Go together like a horse and carriage. This I tell ya, brother, you can't have one without the other...
Nick and I have been together for over 10 years, and we'll be celebrating 2 years of marriage later this month. Yes, we are "husband" and "wife"-- but we are friends before anything. Having been together this long you can imagine how much we love each other, as well as how comfortable we are with each other at this point in our relationship. But how comfortable is too comfortable in a long-term relationship? This question was sparked one morning while I was recording an impromptu "Arria Tries" segment and an unexpected conversation came up. Click the video below and see how the conversation came about... lol
Nick can be quite the unintentional comedian, and I found the conversation so hilarious that I just had to share. I'm not sure how other women would have taken/interpreted his thoughts, but we've been together so long, all I could see was the humor in it. But with this, I also couldn't help but consider the dialogues that could arise as a result of hearing my husband's thought process regarding my appearance. Do all men think this way? And if so, why?
As a woman, I could be lead to draw a couple of conclusions:
As lover-besties, we have a comfy cozy relationship that doesn't need fluffing, so we can be flat-out honest with our thoughts and feelings
He love's me for what inside... my heart
Well, no matter what the reason, I'd love to hear your thoughts. What are signs that a relationship may be getting too comfortable? I'd also love for you all to chime in on the conversation of a fully "beat" face (of makeup), versus the idea of having a clean natural face.
