Grey Matters: The Fringe Effect (For Under $25)!
I've been so lazy dressing myself over the past couple months, and it has been a minute-- but I'm back with another #ThriftyThursday Style Post. This time showcasing my second trimester bump-age!
I wasn't exactly sure of what to call this look. But as my growing bump was starting to pop, the inspiration for this look was quite straightforward: quick comfort. lol
There really wasn't a lot involved in the creation of this look, and the places where I found the most of the pieces were mainstream commercial stores:
Sleeveless Turtleneck dress: Thrifted from a Salvation Army in South Jersey
Velvet Embroidered Kimono: H&M (before the "coolest monkey in the jungle" fiasco, smh)
Accessories: My Handmade Jewelry Line, QuÉrica Jewelry (www.QuEricaLiverich.com)
Platform Sandals: Marshalls (Gotta love the clearance section!)
At one point a couple of years ago, I was obsessed with purchasing kimonos. They were the perfect pop of cool, and color. So when I found this one at H&M it was love at fringe-site. lol
Over 4 years later, this look is still poppin'. I love love love this kimono because of its mixed feels. The fringe gives such bohemian vibes, while the embossed velvet (along with the subtle rhinestone detailing) keeps it classy while stealing the show. I mean seriously, what's not to love? I wish they had this style in an assortment of colors; I would have been living like the Pokémon masters... tryna catch' em all! lol
The best part? This bad boy was on MAJOR sale (from the original price of $49.95)! Or maybe it was originally $69.95-- I can't recall at the moment, because I was too hyped over the idea of not having to pay the full retail value on such a fab find. haha
Keeping It Simple
When it came to the accessories I just wanted to keep it simple. The kimono did so much as an accent piece that I just needed a long necklace and simple arm candy. Nothing major, just a watch and my stackable "Le Barre" ring from my personal jewelry line, QuÉrica Jewelry (available for purchase by request).
We had a fabulous night out. Though Nick was technically working (doing some wedding photography), this occasion definitely doubled as a date night. #ForTheWin! lol Comment below and let me know that you think about the overall look. Is it one to #liverich, or #letgo?
#LiveRi¢h, and Happy Dream Chasing!
