Live Rich Kitchen: Louisiana Inspired Rice
I made this quick and easy meal with a couple of random things that were in my kitchen. It was so easy and delicious, the sausage really set it off!
Red and green bell peppers
Beans of your choice (I love black beans)
Other spices you want to add (according to your taste)-- I chose Paprika and Cayenne Pepper
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes (depending on if you use canned or dried beans)
Boil your beans and rice.
Cut up, season, and sautée your vegetables so they're slightly crispy.
Gather all of your cooked elements. Mix your sausages and vegetables.
Make the sauce for your rice. Mix and boil the Chicken broth with tomato paste (I only happened to have tomato sauce at the time). The tomato paste would created a deepened red color and probably a little more flavor too. I added a little cayenne pepper and paprika to the sauce mixture. Allow the sauce to simmer for a bit, and then add it to the rice.
Mix all of your prepared elements, and revel in the soon-to-be consumed deliciousness!
Plate and enjoy! I love plantains, so I fried some plantains and added the beans. Nicholas is usually the one who gets all fancy with his plating and food serving-- so I was trying to get on his level lol.
