2018 Reflections & 2019 Looking Forward

Hey there #LiveRI¢H Fam!

We've officially survived the 365 of 2018. So many amazing things happened last year, and being the sentimental person that I am, I want to take some time to reflect and meditate on them. And in doing so, really glorify God for what He's done (and has started to put in motion) in my life through the last 12 months.

I feel like I kept you all pretty close and up-to-date with my 2018 goals and their progress (you can catch the vision and update posts in the corresponding links-- or below in the suggested posts). But because I declared 2018 my Ephesians 3:20 year--- a year of "immeasurably more than I can ask or imagine," I want to share the top 8 things that happened that I would have never imagined at the start of 2018.

  1. The awakening of my faith- Discovering and experiencing God in a way that I never knew I could. I found a new church home and gained a new family. The journey so far has been so miraculous in many ways, and the part that blows my mind is that I'm just at the very tip of the iceberg. I have so much more to learn, and thus so much more to experience. But God made His presence VERY known to me in 2018. :)

  2. The addition of Jaiyce to the family. Becoming a mom of two has been such a ride, but it has truly been a blessing of immeasurably more than I could imagine. Jaiyce is such a ball of light and sunshine. Like literally, every time I look at his face I can't help but smile because he exudes so much joy and love. He's always smiling, and never really fussy... and watching Arria in her role as a big sister has been next-level. So next-level in fact, that we started an instagram account for the both of them as a sibling duo. lol Arria's so kind, loving, caring, and protective of Jaiyce. We truly couldn't have asked for a better outcome!

  3. We closed on, and purchased our first home! ...With only one source of income, against many odds, and under circumstances that would typically make it impossible, God made it possible!

  4. Becoming a paid blogger-- with official brand partnerships and learning so much in the process!

  5. Attending a couple of Women's Empowerment events; meeting, connecting, and hanging with some of my fave people who inspire me most from the internets in-person! -- Freddie Harrel, Christina Bright, Simone Briggs (mom of Call Me Sparkle), Chanae Marie, Dayna Bolden, Kathleen Pagan-Aguasvivas of Endlessly Elated, and a couple of others! :)

  1. Getting the opportunity to participate in (and create) my first real piece of "viral content," thanks to my partnership with Rock You Media-- and having a couple others follow!

  2. Doing my first official on-air hosting gig for a television channel/network (CharmTV), around the Holidays... and for the Mayor of Baltimore no-less!

  3. I wrote a BUNCH of blog posts and created content that I'm really, really proud of. Just getting back into the mode of being consistent and getting out of my head, so I can execute some of my creative ideas (including creating my t-shirt line) was really one of the biggest blessings of 2018. I started the year not really knowing what would come of this blogging experience, but it has been so freeing in ways that I couldn't have asked or imagined at the start of 2018. That said I want to share some of my favorite posts and personal essays with you. I hope that you will give them a read later, or perhaps share them with someone who you feel would be inspired by them, or find them helpful in any way! :)

Now that those 2018 reflections are done, in true "me" form, I'm also sharing my declaration for this New Year of 2019 and some of my goals for the next 365!

Since 2018 helped me establish my need to lean into trusting the Lord's plan/guidance for my life, I'm making 2019 my year of surrender. This declaration is planted in the bible verse found in 1 Corinthians 2:9-10:

"Rather, as it is written: 'No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10 But God has revealed it to us by the Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God'."

I have so much more that I want to share in regards to this declaration, and I will! ...In a follow-up blog post about my 2019 vision, specific goals, and my 2019 vision board reveal, so stay tuned! I would've loved to include them here, but I this blog post is already longer than I'd anticipated. haha. That said, who's ready to take on 2019 with me?!

Comment below sharing some of your 2019 goals, and some measurable/actionable steps that you're taking towards them. I look forward to sharing more of my vision and crushing this year with you (and anyone else who you may want to send our way)! ;-)

Until the next time, #LiveRi¢h and Happy Dream Chasing!
