Thoughts At 32 - Do More Of What Feels Good
Hey there Ri¢h Fam!
It has been a minute since I've written you all, and for that I'm sorry. I'll be getting into that in later posts-- but for right now I'm writing because..
IT'S MA BIRTHDAYYYYY!!!
Since starting this blog back in 2017 it seems like writing a yearly blog post has become somewhat of a tradition. So I figured, "hey it's year three [my favorite number], let's keep it going and make this an official thing. lol
You know how people that annoying birthday question, "Sooooo, how does it feel to be another year older?" and you never have anything deep to say. Well this year, I feel like I have some insights to share. Overall, as I'm entering my 32nd year my main thought is this: do more more of what feels good, and less of the stuff that doesn't. Leave the people, mentalities, beliefs, jobs, pressures, and situations that don't cater to bringing out the best of you behind. Remember what makes you smile your biggest smile, keep things simple, and tap wholly into all the things that bring you genuine joy.
As I'm drafting this blog post it's the eve of my birthday. It's currently 3:52AM and I just wanted to jot down and share a couple real random ponderings that I have going into my new solar orbit.
LEARNING PATIENCE. With myself and the process. I'm learning myself - rediscovering things that I like, while crafting the woman I most want to be, one day at a time.
FAITHING IT: I'm learning daily how to operate in gratitude and surrender. I'm trusting and living to seek and serve in purpose.
ARTISTIC LIVING: I'm creating and brimming with ideas: I was drafting a blog post on the eve of my birthday. It was 3:52AM. The 4 hours prior I was updating sites, drafting blog posts, my newest project (a podcast), thinking of tomorrow's plans, and visualizing making stuff with my hands-- I even have my jewelry stuff laid out to make myself something!
JEWELRY: I'm taking it back to the basics. Building from what I know. Creating and doing what feels good. Beaded jewelry over metal. Organic work. One-of-a-kind pieces. I'm thinking of IG auctions/ sales.
COMMUNITY: Celebrating sisterhood. I'm inspired by so many bomb women and mothers-- many of which I have met online-- and I want to nurture those relationships in real life. Connecting good people to other good people.
Keeping all of that in mind, I want to share 10 Things I want to tackle this month. Kicking off my 32nd year, I'm:
Re-committing to my self care regimen: Once a month date-nights (with myself).
Booking a spontaneous trip.
Finding a therapist
Planning a group mommy hang - at the beach (obvi!) lol
Planning out content calendar for next 3-6 months to engage more with you all (my digital fam) and bring value to your lives. So tell me, what type of content do you all want to see?
Back to basics - jewelry
More writing and reading. Finish reading at least one of the 3 books I've been carrying around with me the past 10 months. lol
Giving my media materials a face-lift: update my reel, create a vio, put together a new media kit, and resumes-- with the goal of landing at least one seasonal hosting gig!
Bonus: Get a tattoo?? :-P I've been wanting an elephant family tattoo on my rib for the past 3 years. Maybe this is the month I finally get it. haha I got my first (and only) tattoo on my 23rd birthday. 23 was such a memorable year for me. So I'm thinking we should mark this year as well because I have a good feeling about 32!
Well, those are all of the thoughts I have so far about getting another year older. Since the theme for the year is more stuff that feels good, and less shit that doesn't, I'd love for you all to participate. Comment and let me know what is one thing you plan on doing more of for the rest of the year, and what is some shit you're leaving behind?
Until the next time, I hope you all enjoy your holiday! #LiveRich, and Happy Dream Chasing!
